Why We Love PNWBUSHCRAFT

Heather and Todd, put simply, are among the kindest and most dedicated members of the Outdoor Community. Both Heather and Todd have diverse backgrounds, and they have taken that experience and built one of the most well-regarded small businesses in the outdoor community! All of their products are built in their workshop in Washington State, they work to source all their material from American companies, and are constantly creating new designs and improving upon existing ones. Even with all the hard work and time that goes into building a thriving business Todd maintains a full time day job and Heather works tirelessly to represent the outdoor community as a board member of the Camp Fire Co-Op, event organizer, small business advocate, and as a co-host of the Raise The Flag Podcast.
What’s up with the Gnomes

If you aren’t familiar with PNWBUSHCRAFT, you should know Heather has a thing for gnomes and has designed and illustrated quite a few gnome characters for her brand. In addition to her regular characters, she has even made a gnome of herself and the rest of the Raise The Flag Podcast crew! Each one of Heather’s gnomes is thoughtfully designed to have a ton of really cool outdoor gear on them and they are a really fun way to spice up your favorite Knife/gear box with a gnome sticker or attach one of the gnome patches to your pack! In a world where outdoor survival is very serious, I truly enjoy the light hearted and whimsical fun of an adventurous little gnome on my gear!
The Gnome Zipper Pouch

The Gnome pouch comes equipped with a Dean the Daring Gnome attached to the front. Why? Because it’s fun! Beyond the awesome little gnome, the pouch is a very well designed storage option for your everyday adventures!
Specs

The Gnome Pouch is made from 10.1 ounce waxed canvas; this stuff is tough and resistant to the elements, making it ideal for outdoor use. Like all quality waxed canvas it will patina over time giving it character and providing you a fond reminder of all your adventures. The zipper is a high quality zippers that will hold up to heavy use with a fun little gnome zipper pull to match the theme. Above the zipper on the far left and right sides are two brass eyelets. The pouch itself is 9X7.5 inches with a wide 6×3 inch bottom. Everything on these pouches is hand cut and assembled, so there may be some slight size variation between batches. One of the greatest things about PNWBUSHCRAFT products is that they are designed to look as good as they function and Heather has an eye for the small details! My Gnome Pouch has an orange stripe with a matching orange backed zipper that really pulls the whole package together nicely. You can expect to see different color combinations and variations, giving each pouch a unique and personalized look!
In Use

I’ve had this pouch with me for a few weeks now, and its first use was as an electronics pouch on a road trip down to Georgia. I was able to keep three small power banks, my GOPRO, three power blocks, and a whole slew of charging cables in it with room to spare. The flat bottom of the pouch really makes this relatively small pouch very spacious! Now that I’m home, I’ve tried running the pouch in a few different configurations including a fire kit, a compact foraging pouch, and a med and toiletry kit for my EDC bag. What I really like about this pouch is it can hold a lot of stuff in a relatively small footprint. It fits well in my small EDC Satchel as well as my backpack, in terms of size it fills a sweet spot for me and I think it will for a lot of people! The two brass eyelets add some utility to the pouch. With a little paracord or rope you can easily suspend the pouch from a tree branch or anything else if you want to keep it off the ground or at eye level.
Final Thoughts

Overall, this is just another well-made and well thought out design from the good folks at PNWBUSHCRAFT, and it would make a great addition to anyone’s gear storage system! It is quickly becoming one of my favorite pouches with its small footprint, but impressive carrying capacity. Maybe you aren’t into gnomes, that’s ok because PNWBUSHCRAFT also makes a version with skulls so you can channel your inner goth or a sterile version if you love the utility but hate fun. I’m kidding about the hating fun part, but I love the variety in the line up, there is truly something for everyone!
